my britney barometer
isn't it strange that no matter what company you are keeping, if you bring up britney spears, it will spark at least a 10 minute conversation? i thought that i used to be immune to it. unfortunately, last week someone turned on the tv and i saw her dancing at the mtv music awards, and now i can think of nothing else. seriously, i spend my days obsessed over britney. did you realize that she is just 5 months younger than me? which is totally wild because she is the only female artist in history to have her first four studio albums debut at no. 1 on the charts. and, in 2002, Forbes ranked her as the world's most powerful celebrity. but who needs money and power when you live in a room that measures 8 x 10?

Hmmmm.... Stevie, I'm worried. You even did your research on her.
i'm speechless.
the parallels between you and britney are tough to put into words, but i'm sure they are there stevie...
I didn't see but I did hear. She was supposedly at her worst and on her way out. I'm glad you are not on your way out.
oh no dad, she's not on her way out. her stunts are pure genius. she has her public at its most interested. all will flock to hear her new album come november. just wait and see.
I won't
fair enough stevie: it's pretty hard to be down and out in celebritydom...as long as you can put out good music, movies or whatever. people are still fixated on her for good or ill.
michael jackson is an example of one who still tanked despite immense public fixation during his trial and because his musical acumen is not as sharp as it once was he has not been able to get past the shame.
britney has fallen very far. she has lost a lot of fans...but she may still have it in her.
it is sad to see a girl of stevie's age flounder about without a clue and act out what is often the result of public scrutiny throughout her life that has lead to a false view of the universe?
First Justin, now Britney? I never thought I would see the day...
stephen, you come on down here anytime. Leave your life in the city, and come to us in the quaintitude of the south. We can watch the first part of offensive movies (which are actually pretty funny) and then walk out of them.
Oh and I'll never talk about britney, cause she is a load of crap, but I am pretty into JT.
to really assess the britney/stevie comparison, we need to see stevie dance in a sequined bikini
don't start that again, anonymous. i know who you are.
Who am I?
come get your bag, cb
Pauliana, I'm speechless about the Utube clip you put on. Maybe you could delete that.
i think the fact that britney got her start as a mouseketeer mirrors stephen's experience with the young ambassadors.
anonymous: Your insights are amazing. Please keep them coming.
i forgot, does that clip have some langueage? i didn't listen to all of it. it's just that that boy (yes it's a boy) has been all over the news here as he/she's been made famous by britney and youtube.
sorry to leave you speechless mom.
i like that. mouseketeers and the young ambassadors. too many similarities to not keep from laughing. stevie, how right you were.
kind of defeats the concept of anonymous when stephen only knows one person who could possibly make such an inane comment (ref. to anon of 9/28.)
it also speaks well of the blogger, as do his recent posts, which anon has just perused...profound, beautiful, heartbreaking (not to imply that these adjective don't describe Britney as well)
i apologize if you followed my link.
I have no idea how I came across your blog. I'm sure you still have a disgusting tongue. Cheers.
