for all the blustering from stephen and peter about woes of emotional manipulation and sentimentality in the mormon culture. why does it feel that barack is running a campaign where he orates well--even inspirationally--and says the minimum in hard facts about any one issue so as not no offend anyone who might otherwise vote for him.

sorry, you haven't convinced me to join the 'groundswell'...

paul, i may have to delete your confrontational and, frankly, downright mean-spirited comments. i recognize that this photograph is corny and cheesy. i even hate the fact that i am among the ardent supporters of a politician (supporting any politician was something i couldn't even see myself doing a year ago). however, i don't believe his speeches are emotionally manipulative. you are confusing inspirational with emotionally manipulative. please take your divisive diatribes elsewhere. and paul, have you even watched the debates to hear barack's policy debates? i severely doubt it. i'm afraid you've fallen in the trap set by the clinton's to make barack look foolish and inexperienced. but its not working because its not true.

not mean-spirited brother. i appreciate your political interest. it is enjoyable to hear your concerns.

it is okay for me to point out ironies, and obama's donations page is not your style. that not your fault, but that is the truth.

it isn't to say that i'm not excited about his candidacy. it isn't to say that some of his speeches are inspiring.

it is to say that i would appreciate substantive information and sources of persuasion and less of the 'audacity of hope' nature...

confrontational? downright mean-spirited? all he said was he wanted to hear more facts and barack is afraid of offending people. how is that a big deal?

brothers don't shake hands, brothers gotta hug.

i love you both. barack n' roll.

Doug and I found your blog from the Fehlberg's blog and we have enjoyed your political opinions. We may not agree with them, but we are still interested in what you have to say. By the way, we miss you up in the Heights.

stevie and i hug in our minds since we parted by such distance. the words sound harsh, but they are typed and sent with love.

and we love you james...

james, there is much more to this than just his one comment. paul somehow thinks that barack is low on substance and high on hope. however, he hasn't really tried to figure out exactly what barack stands for. a rally is a rally for a reason: to get people excited, not to list policies. paul should spend more of his google time looking up obama policies.

tamara: you don't agree with them? what do you mean? looks like we should all get together sometime soon. let's plan a meet-up with the fehlbergs.

paul: let's hug it out, .....

Come to the Fehlberg's place! In fact, Stephen, this weekend marks the very weekend when you and Di found our ultrasound pic. Remember how you knew Sydney was coming before our families? Awesome.

Okay, call me confused, but I thought you were a McCain-lover?

Stephen said...

kaedi: at least i'm not a mccain-hater, but i'm going to have to call you confused.

paul: i posted this on peter's blog, but i wanted to pass it along here.

i'm afraid you have fallen into the trap set by the clintons. they would have us believe barack is inexperienced and low on substance. they would have us believe that his campaign is a fairy tale, and that barack's declaration of hope is just naiveté. and the media has picked up on this as well, which is how you have come to it. look beyond the cliche stereotypes and lies the clintons have produced concerning barack, and please try to make up your own mind.

LOL.
(sorry i used a 16 yr old text type).

but that accusation of maccaniac at stephen is more than just mildly offensive in his mind.

how do you like me speaking as stephen's surrogate?

stevey and i for once agree on one thing.
are stated position as obamacans (republicans for obama). although, i may have spoke too soon, b/c stevey may not claim to be of the grand old party. either way. we agree on something. for once.

peter: congratulations on finally aligning your views with mine.

can i just interject here? although i do like a lot of what i read about the O, i think the whole campaigning process (america's in general) has just gone to poop. it's all just smoke and mirrors if you ask me. that's all.
