Today in school (1st grade) we discussed: "Who Will Be Our Next President?" Then we took a vote.
Obama 13 votes
McCain 5 votes

When I asked them WHY they voted, they said: He's old, he's funny,
he will bring the boys home from war.

I told my class to go home and study the issues with their parents. Their homework assignment was to bring a newspaper article or picture of the candidates and tell something of substance to the class for extra credit. We will vote again on November 4th.

I thought Stephen would like their initial vote. ~ Aunt Shauna

shauna: i am happy with their initial vote. excited for the final results.

anony: nice comment, coward. come out from under your cloak of anonymity and let's talk about what is making you so insecure.

Must admit, it is a good picture.

I worry that he won't make it a full 4 years. He's already had an assasination attempt blocked. There are way to many nuts out there. Someone told my son-in-law if he wins it'll be the beginning of Armageddon. I'm sure that many think of him as the "beast". I'm worried for him. Does anyone really set out to destroy the land they live in? Not talking about third world countries here.

Stephen -- Did you get to be such a deep thinker and fine writer because you had such an excellent fifth grade teacher??

mrs. harris: i most definitely contribute any real or imagined success to my fifth grade teacher. no doubt about it. it's great to hear from you. i have a special place in my heart for my elementary school teachers after enduring two years of second grade teaching myself.

Stephen, I wish I could say I had a lot to do with all of your success but I bet it's because of great parents. My success in teaching was because of students like you. Teaching you was very fun and highly entertaining. It was a great time for me! I'm sure you were an excellent teacher and my second grader right now would have loved you!

Stevie,
I think this picture was taken the day after I attended his rally at the Melon Arena in Pittsburgh.
